So, everything my life has been condensed down to packing boxes. Again.
The higher-ups at my company have decided that it would be easier to transfer us to a different building rather than keep us in our current location, which still smells like fresh paint and new carpet. Add to that the fact that I’ve already started doing the “taking this with me”/“giving it to Goodwill”/“trashing it” shuffle at home, and you have the makings of a hefty mental trauma for me.
I’ve been trying to be good as far as diets and workouts are concerned. I’m doing Pilates again, which never fails to amuse the cats, and the MacGillicuddy and I grilled big slabs of teriyaki-marinated chicken Sunday night. Of course, nem0nic‘s birthday party is this Saturday and I dearly want to go, despite the fact that it will totally sabotage my good intentions. We’ll see how I feel about it as the week goes along. The spirit may be willing, but my flesh is occasionally weak.
I am looking forward to my move, though. I will be in the heart of my cozy Southern city, just a few blocks’ walk away from almost everything, just as spring winds its way into summer. I really do think Rob is rubbing off on me; even for my inevitable flight to warmer climes I’m still perusing downtown living options.
Rainy days call for good music, especially when you’re having Italian food delivered. Thus, everyone needs to go listen to Brian McKnight’s new album, U Turn. Unless, of course, you’re like Steven and I, in which case you have your choice of Thievery Corporation’s Sounds from the Verve Hi Fi or the musical stylings of Verve Remixed. With lots of coffee, mind you, as there’s no other way we’d make it through long nights on music alone.
