Went to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets tonight, as opposed to seeing the Nashville Opera’s production of La Traviata. Lots of delicious eye candy both real and realistic (thanks to the talented crew at ILM), and fortunately Chris Columbus didn’t drop the ball the second time around.
Brisk, cold Saturday afternoons usually mean I’m indoors, and after going on a little hunt for bookmarks as a favor to Deleterious, I put on the J.E. Gardiner recording of Handel’s Messiah and began to sing along while I swept up and did the dishes. Halfway through my rendition of “He Shall Feed His Flock” (both alto and soprano roles), I got a knock on my door. To my surprise, it wasn’t a noise complaint but my kindly neighbor lady upstairs to compliment me on my voice. Apparently she recognized the tune as one that her daughter had sung while in college and she wanted to thank me for the memories.
Truthfully, that brought all sorts of warm feelings to me. I don’t think people appreciate each other quite enough
