in occasional fits of lonely

12 January 2003

It’s ridiculous, really, how excitable I get about the silliest things, but nem0nic posted a comment to Friday’s entry about how he didn’t show up to spin some tunes and I’m giddy with delight that he noticed me.

It’s going to sound truly dorky, but I actually have little CD singles with printed covers and everything for his mixes. Had I been better about packing for Atlanta, I’d have brought them down for autographing. In between his work and the stuff from United House Front, I’m a happy girl.

I think I’m going to stay in Chattanooga a little while longer. Like for another year or so. Because after talking with my far-flung friends in Atlanta, the tech market seems to still be a bit soggy and I’ve got an excellent position with all sorts of lovely benefits. I’m also starting to get more involved in the community, both professionally and personally, and it would be a shame to cut that short.

Working where I do, one can’t help but pick up an interest in photography. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to picking up a Lomograph camera and a semi-pro DSLR. There are so many things I see every day that make me want to stop and commit to memory, be it in my head or on CompactFlash; it seems a shame to have to pass that up.

With any luck, I’ll have another 240GB of storage space coming to me. And no, it’s not for porn. I’m just a digital pack rat running out of room.
