Pardon the lack of entries. Mucking about with the database is generally A Bad IdeaTM. They’re all back, though; even the ones that didn’t get published the first time.
It’s the second day of the new year and my first back at work after my fortnight of vacations. Everyone is in a massive state of disarray, as we changed office locations over the break and it’s taking some getting used to. It would be amusing if I could just observe it instead of being in the thick of it all.
Dishwalla’s third album, Opaline, is in heavy rotation right now. Driving to see “The Two Towers” with the cousins last Thursday, they played “Angels and Devils” for us and we were immediately jazzed at the good meld of rock and lush string arrangements. Thankfully the album follows the same form and every track is ear candy. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
The cats have apparently forgiven my abrupt disappearance, as I woke up with all three of them piled on to bed. There’s hardly a better way to wake up than that.
J.N. has just about convinced me to go to Sydney for New Year’s Eve 2004. If his memories of Down Under serve him right, I may not ever want to leave. But I am looking forward to a long, lovely vacation spent on sweeping sands, glittering opera houses, cozy pubs, and all in good company.
