We were taking Tuffaluffagus J. Cat to vet for his annual teeth cleaning, and although his carrier was lined with a comfy blanket, the plastic and metal rattled in a terribly unsettling fashion. Since the cats will all have to go a’travelin’ abroad someday, it was decided that new carriers were in order, and so we went window-shopping on the Internet.
I’d linked Jonathan to the Avior carrier, but folks had reported that the plastic was prone to cracking and shattering. The Sleepypod had the advantage of being both a carrier and a bed, but it wasn’t rated for airline travel, so that disqualified it. Eventually, we stumbled onto Teafco’s Argo carriers, specifically the Petascope. Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side, but once it arrived, it was evident that it was worth every penny. The mesh windows are dual-layered, which is good for the times when the claws and teeth come out, and the padded interior is also water-resistant and easy to clean. They’re attractive enough to sit out around the house, and as evinced by the photo above, Tuxedo J. Cat has already laid claim to the green one.
And this reminds me—it’s time to book Gizmo for her teeth cleaning. I’ll let you know how it fares on the go.
