rainy day valentines

14 February 2003

Swamped in flowers! Aren’t you all just the sweetest?

Now T.C.‘s lilies are accompanied by white roses from Dad, and if my luck holds, there will be more waiting at home. B.M. sweetly donated 100 work units to my SETI total, and J.N. has supposedly sent off a handwritten missive on proper stationery to me.

It’s good to be loved.

Today is rain, more rain, and rain throughout the weekend, if our weather forecasters are to be believed. This, of course, is not the soft misting that one associates with walking down Parisian boulevards, swathed in fog. Rather, it’s fierce spates of rain that exhuast themselves thoroughly before the next clouds dump their watery burdens.

This, of course, nixes any romantic walks across the Walnut Street Bridge after tonight’s celebrations, but one can argue that it is a fine excuse to snuggle up with ten pillows, three cats, and a good man.
