summer dies here, and so could I

8 January 2003

I moved my reading chair into my home office/spare bedroom last night, which necessitated a lot of head-scratching as I tried to figure out how one went about fitting an overstuffed armchair through a narrow doorway.

But for all the lonely, a tip: Pick up your mail. Because in an infinitely funny twist of Fate, I met a nice man at my mailbox last night. It turns out that he moved into my old apartment and we had a little laugh over the coincidence. I gave him my new apartment number and told him to drop by for coffee or to get his pride handed to him on a platter in Tekken 4, whichever he preferred. (He saw this month’s EGM in my stack of mail.)

Calvin got engaged over Christmas and no one told me what happened. Of course, that was probably because when you have friends who are all manly men, such a momentuous event as getting engaged is small potatoes to, oh, marcc stealing your pool table in Animal Crossing.
