I talked with some of my Dallas/Ft. Worth-based friends last night and it looks like there’s a journalistic job crisis there. D. and his boss, T. both got sacked, and R. takes the oncoming light at the end of his tunnel for a train.

They both talked about how people didn’t read the newspapers any more; they preferred to just go online and read the box scores for last night’s White Sox game. I don’t think that’s true, personally. I still buy books, even though one could argue that putting the latest Luke Davies into eBook format and reading it on my iPaq is just as reasonable.

But I dislike reading on a monitor. Call it habit
